Lost Favour

There's a strong breeze as you're dragged along the town's main street, you feel it ruffling your hair and can see the clouds whisk past overhead. You dig your heels into the ground as you spot the swinging noose, curse and try to pull free of your captors. With a heave they pull you from your feet, physically carry you spreadeagled towards the gallows, and you're quivering when they drop you at its base. One crouches, you shy away from the large knife he's holding and close your eyes as he rapidly cuts away your dress and underclothes. Your skin glows under the light of the sun, you look fearfully from one leering face to another, and try struggling again as you're picked up, as you're pushed up onto the gallows.

The noose slips easily over your head, it's snug and secure around your neck. You stare at the assembled townsfolk, at men who'd loved you only hours before and women who'd hated you since the moment you arrived. You gulp as your hands are bound at the small of your back, try to tense yourself in defiance of the inevitable, and still gasp as the wood beneath you falls away. You swing, legs stretching for anything solid. You're soon covered by a thin layer of sweat under the hot sun, you glisten beautifully, and you can see your audience shifting as you excite them, see men whisper into the ears of their female companion.

You remember the hanging you'd witnessed upon arriving, remember what had happened to her after death. Emotions clash as you imagine the same happening to you, imagine being passed round in the saloon you'd called home. There are jeers as the audience spots your internal conflict, notice your hardening nipples and how you rub your thighs together. A heat blooms in your stomach, your heartbeat becomes loud in your ears and your vision starts darkening, and your hands work uselessly as you sway in the breeze.
